Harvesting: Combine Harvester but may experience high seed loss and issues with stalk clogging rotors. Harvested product is the grain.

FIBER PRODUCTION

Harvesting: Hay sickle and baler. Harvested material is the stalk.

Processing: Mechanical Decortication or Continuous Countercurrent Reactor

Processed Product: Bast fiber, woody core and lignin

CBD Production

Sowing Methods: Direct seed in rows or clones; all females ideal for highest concentration

Fertility: Under investigation

Harvesting: Hand harvest; mechanical equipment under investigation. Harvested material is the flowers

Curing: Hang dry; Under investigation

Processing: Supercritical CO2, ethanol, butane, olive oil, coconut oil

Processed Product: Cannabinoid extract

All Hemp Production

Irrigation: Will improve yields, but hemp does not like to be drowned in water

Diseases: Susceptible to Hemp Canker, Grey Mold, Aster Yellows, Pythium Rot, Crown Rot, Cercospora, Powdery Mildew and Phoma

Pests:Silk Worms, Flea Beetles, Army Worms, Grasshoppers, Cut Worms & Birds

Weeds: Grassy and Broadleaf weeds if hemp is planted too late
